John Schott (President)

John, President of ELIA, is a permanent resident of Sheboygan Bay and an Elkhart Village trustee. His attachment to the lake spans many decades. John is a retired global marketing manager for Kohler Co. He’s married to Martha. Their three daughters and their grandchildren enjoy the Elkhart Lake experience.

Chris Strigenz
(Vice President)

Chris grew up summering on Elkhart at her Linnehan family cottage. She now enjoys Elkhart with her husband, Mark and daughter, Catie. Chris’s 37 year technology sales career, spanned across industries while at IBM, Oracle, Sun Microsystems and Apple. Currently loving retirement, focusing on her top priorities; family, friends and KEB!

Kim Elias (Secretary)

Kim is a hydrogeologist with 30 years of environmental consulting experience.  Her passion for lake life and knowledge of the environment inspires her contributions to our lake.  Kim has lived on Elkhart Lake for over 25 years, loves paddle boarding, and her daughter Maggi attends UW Madison.

Randy Boeldt (Treasurer)

Randy is a lifelong resident of Sheboygan County, dedicating his entire career to public service through a series of roles within the field of law enforcement. His  journey culminated in his well-deserved retirement in 2012, capping off an illustrious 22-year tenure as the Chief of Police for Elkhart Lake. 

John Steffes

John has been a Sheboygan County resident his entire life.  He has worked in the corporate world for the past 35 years and is currently the General Manager of the Osthoff Resort.  In his free time, he enjoys volunteering, spending time with his family, and is an avid sportsman. 


Bill Easom

Bill was raised in Milwaukee, Wi. and has been coming to Elkhart Lake since 1973. He is a longtime member of the Elkhart Lake Sailing Club and enjoys outdoor activities. Bill lives in Chicago with his wife, two college aged kids and his dog Lambeau. He is currently a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley since 1983.

Peter Gunther

Growing up, Peter learned “It never rains at Elkhart.” He is a third generation Elkhart sailor, who swam at Big Blue and trained  for cross-country on the path.  He is a semi-retired lawyer.  Elkhart’s seasons, blue water, and beauty bless him, his wife Mary, and children, Christena and Travis.

Mike Froh

Mike and his wife, Susie White, are both lifelong residents of Sheboygan County. Mike was one of the owners of a large independent insurance agency in Sheboygan, retiring in 2018. He has been racing cars at Road America since 1971, is an avid Lake Michigan boater, and occasionally cruises Elkhart Lake in his Amphicar.

Nancy Hanlon

Nancy enjoyed many summer days on Elkhart Lake with her husband and children while living in Plymouth and working as a Spanish teacher. Now retired, she is very interested in controlling the spread of invasive aquatic species through education and sound environmental practices.

Lauren Hall

Lauren grew up summers at the lake and hearing stories of her grandmother’s adventures in Turtle Bay in the 1930s.  Now a permanent resident in the Village of Elkhart Lake, Lauren and her husband Bill are enjoying the lake through the eyes of their young son.  Lauren and her family cherish the lake experience and community. 

Dee Sheehan

Dee has wonderful memories of summers at the lake as a youngster, mother, and grandmother. Moving from Texas, Dee and her husband, Mike retired at the lake home her parents built. They treasure the beauty and purity of Elkhart Lake and feel a duty to preserve these qualities for future generations.

Sarah Majerus

Sarah lives in the Village of Elkhart lake with her husband Joe and their two boys, Max and Sammy.  They are often found exploring the woods and waters of Elkhart Lake and beyond.  Sarah is a wetland ecologist with a passion for connecting humans with the natural environment. 

Kevin Sofen

Kevin grew up spending summers in Elkhart Lake, but his love for water has grown beyond Sheboygan. He now works in Chicago for a water treatment company that brings safe water solutions to those in need.  Kevin hopes to educate and provide clean water solutions to everyone he meets.

Mary Jo Vollrath

Mary Jo and her five children have enjoyed making memories along the beautiful shores of Elkhart Lake where she has lived for over 30 years. Mary Jo is a retired school teacher, active community member, and has returned  to the ELIA board for a second time.
