BOATING REGULATIONS


1. A Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD) in serviceable condition is required to be in the boat and accessible for each person in the boat.
2. A speed of “SLOW NO WAKE” is in effect all year long from 7:30 pm-10 am each day. “SLOW NO WAKE” is defined as the slowest possible speed at which a boat can operate while still maintaining steerage.
3. Maintain a speed of “SLOW NO WAKE” at all times when operating a motor boat between the shoreline and the NO WAKE buoys and within 100 feet of any craft at anchor, adrift or not operating under engine power.
4. No boat towing persons skiing, tubing or the like can come within 100 feet of swimmers, divers, rafts, other boats or restricted areas.
5. All boats engaged in towing skiers, tubers or persons in similar activities must have a competent person, other than the pilot, observing the towed person(s).
6. NO SUNDAY operation of motor driven boats, beginning the 2nd Sunday of June and ending the 3rd Sunday of September. Note: Only electric trolling motors allowed.
7. There is a radar-enforced speed limit of 35 m.p.h. on the water.
8. A counter-clockwise course should be maintained while water-skiing, jet skiing, etc., and during the times of high-volume boat activity.

FISHING REGULATIONS
 

Fish Season Regulation
Catfish Open All Year No minimum length limit and the daily bag limit is 10.
Panfish (bluegill, pumpkinseed, sunfish, crappie and yellow perch) Open All Year No minimum length limit and the daily bag limit is 25.
Largemouth bass and smallmouth bass May 5, 2012 to March 3, 2013 The minimum length limit is 14″ and the daily bag limit is 5.
Muskellunge and hybrids May 5, 2012 to December 31, 2012 The minimum length limit is 50″ and the daily bag limit is 1.
Northern pike May 5, 2012 to March 3, 2013 The minimum length limit is 26″ and the daily bag limit is 2.

Walleye, sauger, and hybrids May 5, 2012 to March 3, 2013 The minimum length limit is 15″ and the daily bag limit is 5.
Bullheads Open All Year No minimum length limit and the daily bag limit is unlimited.
Cisco and whitefish Open All Year No minimum length for cisco and whitefish and the daily bag limit is 25 pounds plus one more fish of either species in total.
Lake sturgeon Closed No fishing allowed.
Paddlefish Closed No fishing allowed.
Rock, yellow, and white bass Open All Year No minimum length limit and the daily bag limit is unlimited.
Rough fish Open All Year No minimum length limit and the daily bag limit is unlimited.
Round goby Open All Year The daily bag limit is 0, one may be killed and possessed for transport to a wdnr office.
Ruffe Open All Year The daily bag limit is 0, one may be killed and possessed for transport to a wdnr office.
Shovelnose sturgeon Closed No fishing allowed.
White perch Open All Year The daily bag limit is 0, one may be killed and possessed for transport to a wdnr office.
